The Gypsy Brotherhood of the capital of Seville ordered the construction of a funeral monument dedicated to the Duchess of Alba at its headquarters in the Templo del Valle, where the ashes of the former sister of this Brotherhood have rested since her death.

This work of art is made of white Carrara marble manufactured by Cuellar Stone and molded by José Antonio Navarro Arteaga

Surrounding this central medallion, a choir of six angels, representing her six children, hold various attributes in their hands: the handkerchief of the Virgin of Angustias, representing her status as chambermaid; the cross and veil, in reference to the unwavering faith that accompanied her throughout her life; a painting palette, representing her love of the visual arts; a Giralda tower, an expression of her deep connection to the city of Seville; a bullfighter’s hat, representing her well-known passion for bullfighting; while the last angel on the right side of the oval covers Seville with a cloak whose folds lend the ensemble the necessary plastic aesthetic characteristic of funerary monuments.

At the bottom, dividing the longitudinal axis, the coat of arms of Los Gitanos appears last.
