Understanding and caring for the planet is a priority and essential aspect for CuellarStone, which is why a set of actions have been implemented that guarantee the sustainability of our activity and show this respect that prevails at CuellarStone towards the environment where we live.
Generating green energy
With three photovoltaic plants, CuellarStone generates 553 MWh/year of 100% clean energy, equivalent to 110 tons of oil per year, contributing to the sustainable development of its operations and the surrounding environment. This represents a reduction of 448 tons of annual CO2 emissions, equivalent to the CO2 absorbed by 7,470 trees per year.
Water recycling systems
Water is an essential resource in the stone manufacturing process. Therefore, CuellarStone has implemented the latest technology in water recycling and storage systems to reuse all the water generated daily in the production process, recycling 700,000 liters of water per day.
Reuse of stone waste
Waste in the form of natural stone that cannot be reused in the production process is recycled in various stone mills to manufacture byproducts, depending on the type of stone. For example, white marble powder is used in different applications such as paints or toothpaste.
