Altarpiece of Santuario Padre Jesús

Religious Art

Church

The altarpiece has been conceived as an enormous tabernacle with a total of eight giant columns and Corinthian capitals made of marble – the smallest measuring six and a half metres and the largest exceeding eight metres – supporting a cornice in Indian green that runs around the entire perimeter of the presbytery, protruding in the centre to create the space where the sacred effigy will be located.
The columns rest on a first body divided into two levels, which houses the tabernacle chapel in its central part, also made of marble, which gives an idea of its dimensions.
